Abdulkadir Akin | Quantum Engineer
Kadir Akin started to work at the QE Center in October 2016. His research is focused on the design and implementation of very high speed and efficient FPGA based systems to achieve real-time quantum information processing. Previously he obtained a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from EPFL in May 2015, and worked as a PostDoc in the same university at the Microelectronic Systems Laboratory. During his research at EPFL he developed several real-time FPGA-based multiple camera systems for advanced video processing applications.
Peter Clements | Quantum Engineer
Peter joined the Quantum Engineering Center in February 2018. After having received a Master and Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from ENSIL (France), he has been working mainly on PCB layout design. Moreover, he was active with the testing, debugging, programming, repair and purchase of electronics.
Mihai Gabureac | Quantum Eingineer
Mihai joined the QE Center in August 2017. He is an expert in cleanroom nanofabrication with experience in thin film deposition, selective etching, Ar milling and e-beam lithography, as well as surface and structural characterization and metrology. He has worked previously with hybrid magnetic-superconducting tunnel junctions and has developed processes for the oxidation/growth of Alox and MgO tunnel barriers using feedback from magnetic devices. Mihai holds a PhD in Physics from the University Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France.
As a technical staff member of the QE Center, Mihai is responsible for the optimization and development of new processes and materials, for the fabrication of Josephson tunnel junctions and superconducting quantum resonators. He provides his support to all QE Center users, based on his cleanroom expertise and quantum circuits knowledge acquired in the Quantum Device Lab. He works both in FIRST and BRNC cleanrooms and supervises the fabrication and PVD activities.
